Welcome to my Network Security Engineer Roadmap page. You've made the right choice!!!

Welcome to Phase 3.

Congratulations on changing your life! Go on and change the world!

Now that you have completed the first two phases, you're well on your way to achieving your dream of becoming a Security or Network Engineer by completing formal education and amassing both relevant certifications and work experience. Apply the same discipline and courage that got you this far to land your dream job. It's absolutely possible and you can do it.

Cybersecurity does not require heavy programming, but you make your job easier and increase your chances of landing your absolute dream job by learning a couple of scripting languages such as Linux bash, Windows Powershell and Python. You absolutely must learn how to at least read code to break through the top level of cybersecurity. So, at least learn Python and bash if nothing else.

The reason why I specifically mention bash and Python is because in my experience they are the most popular, very easy to learn, powerful, flexible, and must have for jobs like SecOps, Pentesters, Security Engineers, and so many other IT security job titles. Although, you will most likely learn basic bash and Python as part of your formal education, you must create hands-on opportunities to increase efficiencies in both.

As a bonus, learn HTML5 so you can build a simple static website like this one. I wrote the entire site using HTML5 and a little bit of CSS. If you are lucky, HTML/HTML5 will be included in your curriculum. In case it's not part of your program by the time you enroll, here is great resource to get you coding in HTML in no time: Click here to start learning HTML5 today.

Remember, more knowledge is power. As you become knowledgeable, you will also become more confident which will allow you be fearless in the pursuit of ultimate dream jobs.

Please don't forget to share your story with others. Of course, I would love to hear how you journey is going or answer any questions you may have. Just reach out via email or on Linkedin. Good luck on your way to cybersecurity greatness!!!
